Purpose: Fellowships designed to encourage original and significant study of ethical or religious values in all fields of the humanities and social sciences. Award covers twelve months of full-time dissertation writing. Graduate schools asked to waive tuition for Newcombe Fellows. Must be a U.S. or Canadian citizen. Must submit application and dissertation proposal by December 2. Focus: Humanities; Social Sciences; Religion/Theology Qualif.: Applicant must be: full-time student. Purpose: Prepares undergraduates academically and professionally to enter the U.S. Department of State Foreign Service after completion of master's degree. A cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher must be maintained throughout participation in the program. Applicants must be college sophomores, U.S. citizens and have minimum 3.2 GPA at time of application. Qualif.: Applicant must be: full-time student. High school students not considered. Award available to U.S. citizens. At time of application, candidates must be seeking admission to graduate school for the following academic year. Must enroll in two-year master's degree programs (such as public policy, international affairs, public administration, or business, economics, political science, sociology or foreign languages). Provides tuition, room, board and fees for the first and second year of graduate study. Must be U.S. citizen and have undergraduate GPA of 3.2 or above. Deadline is February 27.
