Admiral Mike Boorda Scholarship Program

(Four Year College, Two Year College, University/Grant)

Purpose: Grants of up to $2000 for active duty members of Navy or Marine Corps enrolled in NROTC, ECP, MECEP, and MECP programs. Based on financial
need. Minimum 2.0 GPA required. Must verify GPA and show military ID of student. One-time award for undergraduate use. Deadline: May 1. Qualif.: Applicant must be: age 22 or younger , single, full-time student. High school students not considered. Award available to U.S. citizens. Award available to members of the following branches of the military: Navy, Marines.

Funds Avail.: Maximum award amount: $2000. To Apply: Required: application form; financial need analysis. Deadline: 5/1.

Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society-Children of Deceased After Retirement From Active Duty

(Four Year College, Two Year College, University, Vocational/Occupational/Grant)

Purpose: For students under 23 whose service member parent died after retiring. Must have current, valid dependent's Uniform Service Identification or Privilege Card; proof of service member's status in Navy or Marine Corps; and proof of parent's death. Minimum 2.0 GPA required. Must verify GPA. Deadline: March 1st. Qualif.: Applicant must be: age 22 or younger , single, full-time student. High school students not considered. Award available to U.S. citizens. Award available to members of the following branches of the military: Navy, Marines.

Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society-Surviving Children of Deceased While on Active Duty

(Four Year College, Two Year College, University, Vocational/Occupational/Grant)

Purpose: One-time grants for full-time undergraduates who are military dependents of deceased service members (retired or deceased service members, service members who died on active duty). One of the specific funds is the Pentagon Assistance Fund, which is limited to children and spouses of the terrorist attack on September 11, 2001. Minimum 2.0 GPA required. Deadline: March 1st. Qualif.: Applicant must be: age 23 or younger , single, full-time student. High school students not considered. Award available to U.S. citizens. Award available to members of the following branches of the military: Navy, Marines.

Vice Admiral E. P. Travers Scholarship and Loan Program


(Four Year College, Two Year College, University, Vocational/Occupational/Grant)

Purpose: Program provides grants of up to $2,000 per academic year. Applicant must be dependent child of active duty service member and be enrolled, or planning to enroll, as a full-time undergraduate at a postsecondary technical, or vocational institution. Each December Travers application forms are posted on Web site: http://www.nmcrs.org/education.html. Between December and February, Travers application forms are available from NMCRS offices worldwide. Minimum 2.0 GPA required. Additionally, a need-based loan of up to $3,000 is available. Qualif.: Applicant must be: age 23 or younger , single, full-time student. High school students not considered. Award available to U.S. citizens. Award available to members of the following branches of the military: Navy, Marines.

USS Tennessee Scholarship Fund

(Four Year College, Two Year College, University, Vocational/Occupational/Grant)

Purpose: Fund provides grants of up to $2,000 for an academic year to dependent children of service members who are serving or have served aboard the U.S.S. Tennessee. Applicant must be enrolled, or planning to enroll, as a full-time undergraduate at a postsecondary, technical, or vocational institution. Each December, Tennessee application forms are posted on Web site: http://www.nmcrs.org/education.html. Between December and February, applications are available from NMCRS offices in Bangor, Groton, Guam, Kings Bay, Norfolk, and Pearl Harbor. Minimum 2.0 GPA required. Qualif.: Applicant must be: age 23 or younger , single, full-time student. High school students not considered. Award available to U.S. citizens. Award available to members of the following branches of the military: Navy, Marines.
