Communications Contest for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing
(Four Year College, Two Year College, University, Vocational/Occupational/Scholarship)
Purpose: $1500 college scholarship (district level) for young people through grade 12 in the United States and Canada, to CEGEP in Quebec and grade 13 in the Caribbean, who are recognized by their school as deaf or hard of hearing. Must be conducted through a local Optimist Club.

Purpose: $650 college scholarship is offered at the district level; $2,000-$5,000 scholarships are offered at the international level. Eligible students are under 19 as of December 31 of the current school year. Open to residents of the U.S., Canada and the Caribbean. Must be conducted through a local Optimist Club.
