AACAP George Tarjan Award

(Postgraduate/Fellowship)

Purpose: Award to child and adolescent psychiatrist who has made a significant contribution in a lifetime career or single seminal work to the understanding or care of those with mental retardation and developmental disabilities.Contributions must have national or international stature and clearly demonstrate lasting effects, and may be in the areas of teaching, research, program development, direct clinical service, advocacy, or administrative commitment. AACAP Irving Philips Award for Prevention

(Postgraduate/Prize)

Purpose:
Award to child and adolescent psychiatrist who has made a significant contribution in a lifetime career or single seminal work to the prevention of mental illness in children and adolescents. Contributions must have national or international stature and clearly demonstrate lasting effects, and may be in the areas of teaching, program development, research, direct clinical service, advocacy, or administrative commitment. Award of $2500 to winner and $2000 donation to a prevention program or center of awardee's choice. Must be a member of the AACAP. Nominations due May 1. AACAP Pilot Research Award Supported by Eli Lilly and Company

(Postgraduate/Grant)

Purpose: Five awards of $9000 each for pilot research, plus five days at the AACAP Annual Meeting. Must be board eligible, certified in child and adolescent psychiatry, or enrolled in child psychiatry residency or fellowship program. Must have faculty appointment in accredited medical school or be in fully accredited child and adolescent psychiatry clinical research or training program. At the time of application, candidates may not have more than two years experience following graduation from residency/fellowship training. Candidates must not have previous significant, individual research funding in the field of child and adolescent mental health. These include the following: NIMH/NIH Funding (Small Grants, "T" Award or R-01) or similar foundation or industry research funding.
