Bruce B. Melchert Scholarship


A current member of the Board of Directors of the TKE Educational Foundation, Bruce B. Melchert was initiated a Teke at Beta-Theta Chapter at the University of Missouri - Columbia and served as the Executive Vice President of TKE from 1960 to 1972. After leaving the staff, he was elected to the Grand Council in 1979, serving as Grand Prytanis from 1987 to 1989. He is a recipient of the Order of the Silver Maple Leaf, Grand Prytanis Award, and the Order of the Golden Eagle Award. He is a Life Loyal Teke.

Criteria
All of the TKE Educational Foundation leadership and scholarship awards are for the benefit of active members of Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity.

This scholarship is awarded in recognition of academic achievement with a Grade Point Average of at least 3.0 or higher and must be at least a sophomore or above, and recognizes outstanding leadership within the chapter, having served as Recruitment Chair, Prytanis or other major officer position in the chapter, and a leader in IFC or other campus organizations.
 
The applicant must be pursuing an undergraduate degree in political science or government, and have a goal to serve people in a political or governmental service position.
 
Preference will first be given to a member of Beta-Theta Chapter, but if there is no qualified applicant, the scholarship will be open to any other qualified Teke.

The application deadline is March 1.
