$5000 WISE-Working in Support of Education
WISE-Quality of Life Program
(Four Year College, Two Year College, University/Scholarship)
Purpose: QL (a Working in Support of Education-WISE program) invites teachers around NYC to introduce a project-based learning tool into their courses and after-school programs. Sophomores, juniors, and seniors identify a critical community problem or need, undertake independent background and field research, and present feasible solutions to the identified problem. The program culminates in a competition for scholarships (up to $15,000) and implementation grants (up to $1,000). Qualif.: High school students considered. Award available to U.S. citizens.
