Empower Partnerships, International Exchange Program, MIUSA – USA



The Empower Partnerships project is a prestigious, two-way international exchange program for organizations working on or interested in working on disability-related issues and inclusion as articulated in the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. This project aims to create sustainable organizational partnerships between U.S. and international organizations, expanding the capacity of each organization to promote disability inclusive communities, and to advance disability rights. MIUSA will select and match organizations from the U.S. and 20 other countries, and will provide ongoing technical assistance, opportunities for international exchange, small grant support to implement collaborative projects, and foster long-term, mutually beneficial relationships.

The Mojave Audio Vocal Scholarship, generously sponsored by Mojave Audio, will be awarded in Fall 2012 to a student (US or non-US citizens) enrolling in the Associate of Arts in Performance (Vocal) program who demonstrates outstanding vocal skills in any genre.

The Joe Bonamassa Blues Guitar Scholarship, (sponsored by the Keeping The Blues Alive Foundation) was created to promote and preserve the heritage of blues music, and to directly encourage and support the educational growth of a newly enrolling Guitar Program student at Musicians Institute.

The scholarship will be awarded in Spring 2013 to a new student (US or non-US citizens) enrolling in the Associate of Arts in Performance (Guitar) program who demonstrates overall outstanding musicianship, and the potential for developing their own individual sound or unique voice on the instrument in the Blues style.
